How it works

  1. Step 1: Join by invitation.

A colleague invites you, or you request access. Every member is a vetted, licensed clinician.

  2. Step 2: Add the colleagues you trust.

Connect with members you know, and add the ones who aren't here yet as private contacts.

  3. Step 3: Refer and keep track.

Describe the need in one line, see who fits and has openings, and follow every referral in one place.

Chase O'Neal, founder of Handoff

Why I built this

I built Handoff because I was tired of the usual ways therapists find referrals: scrolling inefficient Facebook groups, keeping my own trusted colleagues in a scattered Excel sheet I never remembered to update, and never really knowing who I could trust to take good care of the people I referred out.

I wanted one place, built on real trust between colleagues, to send someone to the right person.

Chase O'Neal, LMFT-Associate · Founder, Austin therapist

Built differently, on purpose

Private and invite-only.

No open directory, no strangers. Everyone here got in through someone you'd trust.

Relationship-based.

Referrals ranked by who your network actually knows and trusts, not by who paid for placement. Works the same whether you're a solo therapist or an agency managing referrals at scale.

Yours to track.

Every referral you send or receive, logged and searchable, so nothing slips through the cracks.

For group practices

One page for your whole team.

Your scheduler answers referrals for every clinician, keeps everyone's availability current, and grows each clinician's network. Referrers see who has room before they send anyone.

  • Answer for anyone.

Reply to a referral for any clinician. The referrer sees it the same as the clinician answering.

  • Availability that stays current.

Tap who has room. Anyone not confirmed in 10 days gets flagged, and a weekly email can check for you.

  • Profiles referrers can judge.

See whose profile is missing a photo, a bio or insurance before a referrer passes them by.

  • Every clinician's own network.

Each clinician gets an invite link for colleagues they trust, and shows up under your practice's name.

Set up in a day.

  1. 1

    Send us your roster.

A spreadsheet of names and credentials is plenty. We build every clinician's profile.

  2. 2

    Your scheduler signs in.

One login runs the whole team. Clinicians don't need a password, and any of them can have their own sign-in later.

  3. 3

    Referrals arrive “For Dana”.

Every referral lands on your team page and in your intake inbox, labeled with the clinician it's for. Answer it in one tap.
